A potential safety issue has been identified with regard to our CMP 2000 charger range (used on Mobility Wheelchairs, Scooters, Leisure) which may in certain circumstances catch fire.

The problem is limited to four specific models. This is because the failure conditions are based upon a component which is only present in these charger models, which are:

12v6A, 24v4A, 24v6A, 24v7A.

By far the most common is the 24v6A.

These chargers are sold primarily for use with electric wheelchairs and scooters.

We consider it appropriate for you to do the following:

1. Immediately stop the use of the charger.
2. Contact your equipment supplier to arrange its collection and replacement.

At the moment CMP batteries are developing revisions to the chargers which will be available within the next 3-4 weeks.

Please note that this notice does not affect the other chargers within the charger range as they have a different electrical combination.

The chargers are identified by their bright purple plastic cases. This, however, is common to a number of charger types. To identify the size against this Product Warning Notice the charger identification label should be checked, which is situated underneath the charger.
