BLACK & DECKER
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
We have identified a rare but potential safety problem with some of our cordless drills. Under very unusual circumstances the switch on these drills can overheat creating a risk of smoking and melting and may present a remote possibility of fire. The potential problem only affects a limited number of products in our extensive range. However, we are taking the precaution of recalling models that may be affected.
Affected Model Numbers and Date Codes
Model Number Voltage Affected Date Code
KCl 461 F 14.4V 19990352 to 20010252 inclusive
KCl 462F & H P532F 14.4V 19990352 to 20020452 inclusive
KCl 882F 18V 19991752 to 20012352 inclusive
If your drill does not have one of these codes it is not affected. You do not need to return it to us and you can continue to use it with confidence.
Please Check Your Drill.
To check the date code, remove the battery and look at the base of the handle (see diagram).
If Your Cordless Drill is Affected
Please stop using it immediately and call the Helpline Number: 0800 444254, or contact us at: http://www.europe-blackanddecker.com/service
You will be provided with instructions on how to return your drill.
We would like to express our sincere regret for any inconvenience caused.
