The third edition of the Code of Practice for Investigators of Fires and Explosions for the Justice Systems in the UK is currently undergoing a formal consultation process.
The drafting committee has taken the decision to extend the consultation deadline to midnight on the 31st of March 2026. This is to ensure as many practitioners and organisations within the fire investigation community can engage with the consultation process.
The draft version of the code of practice is available on the UK-AFI website. This is an ideal opportunity to shape the future of the code of practice and ensure it remains a vital and valid document.
