In the course of our continuous quality programme, Sony has discovered an electrical problem with the above mentioned televisions, which need to be inspected and serviced by a designated service agent. Although we have no reported incidents, Sony has decided to issue this important safety notice, as there is a risk of receiving an electrical shock from the set. In the meantime, if you own one of the above models, it is important that you unplug your television from the mains and do not use it until the necessary modification has been carried out by Sony authorised service personnel.
We would like you to contact us at your earliest convenience on the number below with the model number of your television; this information can be found on the instruction manual, the warranty card or may be on your receipt. It can also be found on the rear cover of your television on the product label. However, please note, due to the weight of the product you should not move or lift the unit.
If you have an affected television, please contact us on the Sony help line 0800 1695263, seven days a week between 8 am and 8 pm. We will then take details from you, and make arrangements to have your television serviced. This will be carried out free of charge in your home, and as it is a simple procedure will not take long.
We stress that this information applies only to Sony television models KV32HQ100 and KV36HQ100. No other models are affected. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter, and apologise for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
