Phillips Home Appliances Group have identified a fault with Phillips Space 55 and Space 60 freestanding cookers.
It appears that these cookers can become unstable under certain conditions of use. Extensive testing has revealed that the critical point can be passed if the door is subject to an abnormally heavy load when it is fully open. Under these circumstances the cooker may topple forward. Phillips engineers have, however, developed an easily fitted modification to rectify the fault.
Phillips have placed advertisements in the Sunday and daily national; press and in the electrical trade press, asking owners of these cookers to ring a freephone number to arrange for a service engineer to install the new parts free of charge. No other Phillips cookers, freestanding or built-in, are affected.
