I have been employed within the the fire Industry for 31 years, and completed my service with Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service (GMFRS) in March 2019. I am now the Director of Modus Fire Investigation and Training Ltd.
My career at GMFRS has afforded me the opportunity to work both as an operational Incident Commander and to be part of the first team to deliver specialised Fire Scene Investigation Services in Greater Manchester. During my service I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a Master of Science degree and became a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers.
I have conducted work as a Fire Investigation Consultant into a number of high value fire related claims and in 2016 I joined the National Fire Chiefs Council Strategic Steering Group for Fire Investigation and lead the Northwest regional branch promoting best practice and new ideas from the Fire Investigation community.
In 2018 I was voted onto the board of Directors at United Kingdom Association of Fire Investigators (UK-AFI) where I am part of a small team responsible maintaining the Association and developing Multi-Agency conferences and training, to share and showcase cutting edge fire investigation practices.
