PUBLIC NOTICE
IBM is voluntarily recalling AC adapters that were supplied with two IBM mobile devices. Some of these AC adapters have exhibited signs of overheating and may pose a hazard.

The AC adapters were sold with the following two mobile devices which are no longer in production:

IBM ThinkPad 310 (Type 2600 only)
IBM ThinkPad i Series (Type 2611 only)

No other IBM AC adapters or mobile devices are affected by this recall.

The AC adapter included in the recall can be identified by an FRU part number (p/n) found on the label of the adapter. Only the FRU part number 12J0539 and 12J0537 are subject to this recall.

If you have one of these adapters, IBM requests that you do not leave the adapter plugged into the AC outlet (power socket) while unattended.

IBM strongly recommends that you return your old AC adapter by sending it back to us in a pre-paid envelope which IBM will supply to you upon receipt of your new adapter.

To contact IBM for a free replacement AC adapter please use the Internet at www.ibm.com/adapterrecall or send an e-mail to [email protected] or call IBM on 01475-555055.

To date there have been no reported adapter incidents in Europe, Middle East or Africa.

IBM apologises for any inconvenience caused.
